Spotlight on Tim Page
Tim first started his career at Southern Springs and Pressings in 1979 with no previous experience of the spring manufacturing business, Tim first started out on the shop floor as a Trainee Spring Maker.
During his time on the shop floor, Tim worked in a variety of roles which involved manufacturing springs on the various machines, packing products for delivery, managing VMI and even delivering some of the products directly to customers. After gaining such valuable experience throughout the factory, Tim moved onto become a Customer Services Officer ensuring that all accounts across the firm were receiving a high level of customer service. This is something Southern Springs and Pressings prides itself on providing to all its customers. After nearly 20 years’ experience at Southern Springs and Pressings Tim moved on to the production department starting off as Assistant to the Production Manager before becoming Production Manager. In December 1992 Tim became a member of the Board of Directors and was given the role of Production Director. During his time in the Production department, Tim’s expertise grew significantly as he attended various training courses and worked closely with a variety of customers to ensure their requirements were met. In 2015, Tim took over the running of Southern Springs and Pressings as Managing Director. He’s invaluable experience allowed Tim to further develop the spring manufacturing business with the expansion of the tooling department, purchase of new machines, an upgrade of several areas around the shop floor including painted floors and a new air conditioning system throughout, This has all led to Southern Springs and Pressings increasing their turnover year on year and experiencing a 50% increase in exports. Tim said, “I am looking forward to the further developments throughout the business, in particular the continued demand and expansion of our tooling department and improving our manufacturing processes”. |
